Workplace Project Designer

FOX Architects is defined by its holistic and collaborative approach to design. Our recent successes are allowing us to extend a call to experienced Interior Designer to join our award winning studio. FOX seeks an Interior Designer able to complement the existing skill set of colleague’s conceptual designs while offering design input throughout the development of each project. Your responsibilities will align to collaborate with studio leaders in their effort to ensure projects are high-quality, profitable and satisfies the client. The Interior Designer is considered as a trusted advisor within the studio; as a visionary supporting FOX’s culture to inspire their peers with original solutions.

 

Our downtown DC studio is walking distance from Foggy Bottom/GWU (blue/orange/silver) and Dupont (red) metro station. This full-time position comes with competitive salary, benefits and upward mobility to designers seeking to take their career to the next level.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and nurtures positive client relations and contacts.
  • Keep finger on the pulse of current developments, trends and practices within the design and construction industries.
  • Develop, document and disseminate firm's Revit standards and reference details.
  • Work with firm leadership to establish project design review procedures and ensure they are followed by team members.
  • Establish planning/designs for projects and evolve these concepts with clear communication throughout the project life cycle.
  • Main point of contact for coordinating the design and documentation process with consultants
  • Support Project Manager with budgeted man-hours to meet milestones for projects.
  • Apply General Conditions, Scope of Services, Team Structure and Fee stipulated in project contracts.
  • Organize and lead with clear communication throughout projects.
  • Actively mentors personal/professional growth for junior team members.

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduated from an accredited Interior Architecture, Interior Design or Architecture program.
  • 3-7 years of progressive professional experience in corporate interiors workplace projects.
  • Application of construction methods and systems appropriate to the firm’s work.
  • Proficient in Revit, Adobe Creative Suites, and other rendering software.
  • Superior presentation skills both written and verbal.
  • LEED or NCIDQ certified preferred.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines without compromising the design / technical intent or relationship with fellow team members.
